Captain’s (B)Log: Friday 19th of October 2018

Phewf! Kate and team are back from an amazing trip to Canada and it's straight into concerts in Newark, Chester and Shrewsbury this weekend.

We've been on the other side of the pond from Kate this week communicating via the internet (what would we do without it?!) and we even got the Live feed from the concert on her Facebook Page. It was amazing to think that she was singing in a huge ice rink in Canada while we were mainly in bed or staying up to watch in little old Yorkshire!

However, it's not a rest time, it's all go talking to venues about the Christmas tour coming up. We don't like thinking about Christmas when it's only October, but it's now that we work on upping the publicity and working with venues to make sure everyone knows about the concerts in their area.

We thought that you might want to know a bit more about the logistics of taking Kate to Canada so here's Emma with a little insight as to what it involves over and above what we do for a normal UK tour...

"The logistics of getting the right people there (and back!) with all right luggage and the right instruments is a huge task - credit has to go to Joy for that one. All technical equipment and larger instruments have to be sourced there.

The team in Canada were amazing from start to finish, helping with paperwork and facilities whilst preparing such an amazing event and then the hospitality was above and beyond. Thank you very much to all the Celtic Colours team"

So there you have it! It's as easy as Rappie Pie (a traditional Nova Scotian dish).

Joy's record of the week:  Jorja Smith, Lost and Found

This week’s teabag count: 75 - Josh and Stevie were here pre-tour

Steve’s Quote of the Week: “it's like plaiting fog!”

More next week…
