Captain’s (B)Log: Friday 26th of October 2018

No sooner are Kate and Damien back from their autumn travels then Damien is preparing to be off again for a mini tour of his own with the boys, starting next Friday - details are here damienokane.co.uk/gigs/.

The big event of the week was almost like the start of an episode of Casualty when Kate got a fish bone stuck in her throat (much like the Queen Mother). She's absolutely fine though apart from the fact she needs to not sing for a few days to let her throat heal.

We asked Damien a few questions about the tour...

Sally: How is touring with the boys different from touring with Kate? Which one gets to bed later?

Damien: Touring with the boys is much smellier and mostly later to bed - only mostly though 😜

Sally: How would you describe your style of music and song in the Damien O'Kane Band?

Damien: Contemporary folk music with influences or world, electronic and jazz...

Sally: What's on your rider and how many strings do you get through?

Damien: I get through about 100 strings per year, and for the rider - 6 beers, a bottle of wine, an ironing board and a cuddly toy!

Record of the week:  Avenging and Bright, Damien O'Kane

This week’s teabag count: 73 - people have been all over this week!

Steve’s Quote of the Week: “Did you say you wanted eggs or legs?”

More next week…
