Captain’s (B)Log: Friday 28th of September 2018

Steve has had a few days away this week, enjoying the last of the September sunshine. Sally celebrated her birthday and Emma and Fee had a lovely trip to Purple Pebble HQ for a Macmillan coffee morning on Friday - yum!!

October is nearly upon us which means trips to Cork and Canada for Kate and co so we are finalising details/ flights etc. Recording starts on Monday as well so we've got a busy few weeks in store.

And so to our small but formidable team and this week we find out more about Joy, the office powerhouse…

Sally: How long have you been working at Pure Records and what does your role involve apart from drinking tea?

Joy: Just over eight years now - still a long way to go for the gold teaspoon! My role involves tour planning, some marketing and PR duties, general office managing, merchandise sourcing, order processing and the occasional chambermaid, laundry maid duties.  I’m sometimes referred to as Cinders.

Sally: What’s a typical day like for you at Pure Records?

Joy: What’s a typical day??? If it isn’t interrupted by apple picking, bed making or pegging the washing out, I would say it goes something like this; arrive, put the kettle on, light the log burning stove in the office, process orders, put the kettle on, answer emails, put the kettle on, crossword over lunch, more confuser/ computer work in the afternoon interspersed by hourly tea breaks and regular trips to the loo!

Sally: how would you sum up the Pure Records vibe?

Joy: One big happy mildly crazy family!

Record of the week:  Kitty Macfarlane, Namer of Clouds.

This week’s teabag count: 47 (We've been all over the place this week and coffee doesn't count - does it?)
