After the flurry of Easter and the joy of sale-price eggs afterwards, we had the brilliant joy of a beautiful May Day this week. We had friends down at the May Day celebrations in Padstow which are just amazing and other friends who were up at dawn to dance in the May at various points in the UK. It always has a sort of magical feeling on the first of May.
Whilst Sally has been enjoying the lovely Spring sunshine, Emma is recovering from her climb up Scafell Pike through wind and rain and snow! She did say that there were amazing views when the cloud lifted though. Sally was happy just looking at the pictures!
Pure HQ has been busy this week collecting pre-orders for Kate's new album, Philosophers, Poets & Kings - out on the 17th of May, luckily we've got Fee helping us out whilst Joy is away on holiday. We also had more visitors in the shape of The Fretless, a Canadian fiddle foursome, who stayed over last night after their gig in Barton upon Humber as part of their current UK tour. we will make sure they've had their fill of Yorkshire Tea before they go.
Kate and Damien have also been tinkering in the studio ahead or Damien's trip for a gig with Stevie and Duncan from the Kate Rusby Band in Bilbao this weekend.
Earworm of the week: Hal-An-Tow (to welcome in the May-O)
This week’s teabag count: 68 - a few visitors but Fee mainly drinks coffee!
Steve's Quote of the Week: “its not a mix it’s mine”
More next week…
