Captain's (B)Log: Friday 7th of September 2018

Well this week has been a week of ‘getting back to it’ after some great holidays and coming down from a busy summer of festivals!

We’ve been very much a part of running Underneath the Stars Festival and then we’ve been supporting Kate Rusby on tour to Wickham, Cropredy and Cambridge festivals as well as some of us volunteering at Whitby Folk Week and a certain Irish banjo player turning 40! Phewf!

So, back to life in the world of record companies…not any old record company, our little but significant record company in the Yorkshire countryside.

For our first diary entry I think a few introductions wouldn’t go amiss…

Firstly we’ve got Emma our MD – the brains behind the business.

The fouding father of it all, now semi-retired - Steve Rusby. A proper Yorkshireman!

Then we have Joy, our office powerhouse and the woman behind all your queries and shop purchases.

Then there’s me, Sally, ‘the one who does twitface’, social media, videos and technical stuff sometimes.

And a record company would be nothing without its artists: Kate Rusby (the reason we started in the first place), Damien O’Kane, Ron Block, Ruth Notman & Sam Kelly, Roddy Woomble, Willy Russell and more to come!

Record of the week: You Are My Sunshine

This week’s teabag count: 65

Steve's quote of the week: "Let's just tell'em we found it like that!"

More next week…
